Abigail's Mom (29 weeks, 3/21/05)

Lorena- I am so sorry to hear about your dad's passing and that your friends are not there to support you. Sending Hugs and prayers.

Jackie- Ugh. The flu is terrible. Good luck. I hope Matt doesn't get it.

Abigail has been home for two days and today she cried b/c she was desperate to go to school.

Jess- I am glad your house is moving forward and that you have the fortitude to live next to your parents. Bless you.

Donna- I am glad that you enjoy lunching with your MIL. Not everyone can enjoy even their mother that way.

Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. See you later.

stacyat - Feb 17, 2012 5:51 pm (#185 Total: 319)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Liz: My heart is breaking for Kate and the rest of the family, definitely keeping Kyle close in my thoughts and prayers. Enjoy your day!!

Donna: I guess he thought all those naps counted for night time sleep! He was up at 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, and up for the day at 8:30! Charles got him at 2, me at 4 and the rest of the time I ignored him and he settled himself down after five minutes, still woke me up though!

Katie: Jealous!!!

Jessica: Haha!! Fingers crossed all goes as planned!

Hi Ellen and Lori!

I really should clean the house, anyone found the cleaning fairy yet?

Donna S - Feb 17, 2012 11:10 pm (#186 Total: 319)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Stacy - UGH!!! Here's hoping he's back on track tonight.

Jess - Good luck with the house!

Ellen - I so know how lucky I am to have such a great MIL that I totally get along with. Poor Abigail....

Katie - Enjoy the three-day weekend!!!

Tracy - Woooohooooo for sleeping in!

Lauren - Put the belly pics in here too, please!

Lori - Good to *see* you. Sending hugs your way!

Four-day weekend here. I've lost my quiet Friday nights though. Grace has ballet (no looney moms anymore, thankfully), then basketball until 7:30. Ryley has baseball in there too, but Michael is taking him. I would really, really, really like to sit down to some mindless tv and a glass of vino. Family from church lost their baby girl today....they'd delivered yesterday (I think at 30 weeks) due to hydrops. She was doing well last night but then it fell apart today. Just heartbroken for so many reasons this week. Too many hurting friends.

----Lol--can you tell the plumber is here and has been for a while??? Let me remind you that in my world it's Saturday and only 7:54 a.m.!

Reframe: Least I got to sleep in yesterday!

Okay so went out with friends last night and saw the movie "This Means War" with Reece Witherspoon. It was an action movie, but was funny at the same time! Such a needed break from reality.

Donna~ I'm sorry to hear about your friends baby. It's definately heartbreaking to know that others are having to go through what I have.

Katie~ Be jealous! Be very jealous!!! I'm off Tuesday too!! (I'm always off on Mondays!)

KHolley - Feb 18, 2012 1:28 pm (#192 Total: 319)

Tracy-I am more jealous than you know!!!!

Donna-I am so sorry for your friend. My heart just breaks for them.

We are off to Alex's Opening Day for t-ball! I am beginning to feel like Donna, running every which way for sports!

Akeelah's Mommy - Feb 18, 2012 6:39 pm (#193 Total: 319)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

No way I could possibly catch up... memory bank full.

It's a chilly weekend and we've got Micah's B-Day beach party tomorrow... hopefully it warms up a bit and the wind stays away!

Have a great weekend everyone!! xoxoxoxo

Donna S - Feb 18, 2012 8:32 pm (#194 Total: 319)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Beach Birthday party? FUN!! Hope the weather cooperates for you Lauren!

Katie - Go Alex!!! Yeah, life gets kinda crazy when they get older and into all the activities. I'm feeling a little lost at the moment with *only* Grace's basketball games on Saturdays. Ryley starts baseball in a few weeks, and who knows when Grace starts soccer again.

Tracy - That's just too early on a Saturday morning.

Lindsay - yep, 30 weeks. I don't know much about hydrops but she had fluid in/around her lungs and chest cavity. They found it over a month ago. Guess they gave her a 50/50 chance of survival before delivery. They didn't know how sick she would be until she was born. Just aching for them.

liz loschinskey - Feb 18, 2012 9:37 pm (#195 Total: 319)

I love my kids!

Donna, prayers going up and my heart aches for them.

Lauren, I thought of you today. I shoved some meat in the crock pot with this terriaki seasoning stuff. OMG...it tastes like beef jerkey and is delish. (Tasted like it, not the consistancy). This is the 2nd time in 3 days I've crocked dinner. Yay for beach paarties, booooooo for cold and wind.

Katie, good luck at the tball game!

Tori's been cranky whhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnneeyyyyy all day. She woke up at 7(normally 9) and hasn't taken a nap yet(it's 430, she won't be getting a nap, now)

To say the least, she wore my last nerve around 9 this morning and I've been a female dog all day. Blah....Altho, I did bite the bullet and got all the bedding and extra sheets for our new bed...YaY!

Any organization ideas for my kitchen counter that seems to be the dumping ground for everything? Going to check pinterest, now.

bbl...

lvazquez - Feb 19, 2012 1:02 am (#196 Total: 319)

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Lauren: Hope your beach birthday party was a blast! Sounds like so much fun!

Tracy: That looks like a fun movie!

Liz: You're making me hungry. Sounds super yummy! I bet you're going to sleep GREAT with that sleep number bed. I've had my eye on them too and everyone who's purchased one swears by them. Good investment:)

I went to an Autism Conference today (yay for scholarships!). It was very insightful and hopeful. Listened to several inspiring stories and made a few contacts. Need more activities for kiddos on the spectrum (free if possible). I think I may have found a few after today:)

Akeelah's Mommy - Feb 19, 2012 2:20 am (#197 Total: 319)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Lindsay- The best activities for kiddos on the spectrum are all the exact same ones you did before any diagnosis. Kids learn most naturally and best through regular interaction with their parents. With a kiddo on the spectrum, sometimes you have to slow down the pace of the activities or simplify the roles, but the activities stay the same. Making clear roles, like for laundry, I'm the giver and your the putter inner, or cooking, I stir, you stir... youtube RDI and you'll see lots of uber generous parents who have shared super cool videos of themselves with their kiddos.

Liz- Ours is also a dumping ground... so we switched to a dumping drawer... same mess... but outta sight outta mind..

Donna- My heart goes out to that family, I hate thinking of what they are going through right now... the first days, weeks, months are brutal.

So much to do... so little time.

lvazquez - Feb 19, 2012 2:47 pm (#198 Total: 319)

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Lauren - I hear you. We do all of those things. I am talking about OUTSIDE of the home:) There weren't too many activities going on. That was part of the problem. Park, park, park and half-priced Saturday movies in the a.m. at the local theatre. He's bored with play-do and we've taken the VCR away. Yes, I said VCR. I learned about FREE activities including horseback riding, bowling, and other nights out with families. Interaction for ALL.

Madisons mom - Feb 19, 2012 3:33 pm (#199 Total: 319)

I'm here and so glad everyone finshed the mad libs..I didnt want to have to write in my own since I know the story...So without further ado, here is the Velnetines Mad Lib (capitalized words are the words you all gave)

Valentines Day is a MAGNIFICANT holiday. In the morning mom makes us JAMES-shaped waffles and Dad gives her a bouquet of FRENCH flowers. At school, we decorate the classroom with red and white FLOWERS and make Valentines cards out of paper and HORSES. We write sayings LOPSIDED inside like, "You make my hearty BITES!" or I love your UNDIES." Afterwards we drink SNICKERS punch and eat heart shaped DISHES and play fun games like hide and go SWINGING and DIG the tail on the PIPE. Oh how l Love Valentines Day.

Hope you enjoyed this mad lib.

Geri

Hey all,
Donna-I wish I had that type of relationship with my mother in law. Now she lives in virginia and we are in NEw York but before that it wasn't like yours. My mom is like your mother in law. We go shopping and out ot lunch and stuff. Unfortunately they have been in Florida for almost 3 weeks and will be there about a week and a half more

Lauren- Hope the birthday party worked out and not too windy. How jealous about a beach party but then again if you got it use it..lol

Tracy-- i love days off from kids, sleep in. My kids are off monday so we have a 3 day weekend. Take what you can get .

Lorena--So sorry to hear about your father. That has to be so hard and not to have your friends is so not right. I would also get rid of some of those. They obviously are not true friends.

Katie-- Activities can be a killer. I know it is the heart of cheerleading season right now and competitions are every other weekend and she practices 2 times a week and tumbling class another day and Alaina does dance once a week. Gets very overwhelming. Props to Donna, how you do it all amazes me. I am exhausted reading about your days..lol

Stacy--saw your youtube video---nice

Well feel pretty crappy since Friday night. Feel blah and my throat is soooo sore. On antibiotics but so far not alot of improvement. Hopefully soon.
Applied for a job today online. Need to go back to work. Need money. One job I like alot home office which is AWESOME and go on calls to doctors talking about treatment options helpful to patients. Say a prayer everyone

Also saying a prayer for the St. Clair family... always in my thoughts

xoxo

Geri: The mad libs was super fun! Thanks game committee gals! Yummy, Snickers punch:)

Hope everyone has a nice Winter Break. It's just 3-days here for us, but I'm taking what I can get too:)

Angel Love - Feb 19, 2012 9:33 pm (#204 Total: 319)

Brrr......it's chilly and rainy here today, but reframe----it was great weather for my nap!!!

Seems I'm on the go today, but I wanted to check in for a second....so I don't get so far behind!!

Lindsay~ Glad you found some great stuff at the conference.

Lauren~ Hope some warmth makes it to the islands before Micah's party! Can't wait to see pics.

Geri~ Thanks for the Mad Lib fun! Gotta pass on that Snickers punch, but can't wait to see the James-shaped waffles....teeheee

Back later.....

Donna S - Feb 20, 2012 12:34 am (#205 Total: 319)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Geri - Very cute Mad Lib!! My kids have recently gotten into Mad Libs. Ethan thinks they're hilarious. As for MIL's and moms...I wish I had the relationship with my mom-mom that I do with my MIL and my Mom-Lois (step-mom). We're just so different and have different perspectives on the world. You are a busy girl with the cheerleading, tumbling, and dance. Funny, I feel like we're in a slow period around here. lol

Lindsay - We've found that yes, we do have to slow down to Ethan's pace and let him take in what he wants to take in, and bypass what he wants to bypass. Also, if we try to push him to do something he really doesn't want to do, we have a battle. Key thing is to be flexible. Those all sound like super fun activities!!!

Tracy - That is a perfect nap day!!!

Lauren - How was the party? I miss Maui beaches. Sigh...can't wait to see pictures of the 2-year-old prince.

Been a pretty quiet weekend. I actually took a nap yesterday - go me! Church this morning was comforting. Lots of prayers for the family of baby Reagan. Snow weekend next weekend - yippee!! Ethan is actually VERY excited to go to ski school. That was unexpected.

Angel Love - Feb 20, 2012 12:55 am (#206 Total: 319)

Donna~ Yay for a great nap this weekend!! I'm proud of you! Woohoo for Ethan being as excited as everyone else for skiing!!! We must see pics-- "we" meaning Lauren and I since we won't see them on FB!!

My town does an annual "shape up" contest and it's a 4 person team. Each person keeps points for different fitness activities that they do throughout the contest. I've decided to participate with friends this year. I'm super excited to have a "reason" to get started and someone (or three someones) to hold me accountable!! I just hope I can keep up with it after the contest is over!!

stacyat - Feb 20, 2012 4:41 am (#207 Total: 319)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Tracy: Who on earth gets up that early?!

Lauren: How did Micah's birthday party go?

Geri: Lol! Cute mad libs!

Our landlord finally got out to empty our hot tub. He made it sound like it was going to be all complicated and stuff. It consisted of hooking up the hose and dragging it across the lawn. We could have done that ourselves two weeks ago and saved us paying the electricity to keep it running for all that time! He's going to sell it since it's not working, bet he doesn't put down the tile on the part of the porch the hot tub is sitting on. Maybe while he's at it, he'll fix the sink that's been broke since we moved in.

Akeelah's Mommy - Feb 20, 2012 5:27 am (#208 Total: 319)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Turned out to be a picture perfect beach day! We had so much fun, Micah completely wiped himself out playing with all his 'friends'. It was super fun! I think this one pretty much capture's Micah's delight with the day...

Lauren-I love him! So glad that the weather cooperated!

Stacy-What a stinky landlord. Hopefully he will get everything fixed ASAP.

Geri-Cute mad libs!

Donna-You took a nap?!!! I think the world has ended!!!!

Tracy-We just joined a gym that has hot yoga. I am super excited to get started.

Glad I have a day off, Alex is home with the stomach flu. All my plans of meeting my Share mommas may have just gone out the window.

Angel Love - Feb 20, 2012 3:01 pm (#210 Total: 319)

Lauren~ That's the perfect pic!!! Love that little man!!

Katie~ Ugh....stomach bugs are not our friends! Hopefully you'll be able to get some Share momma time too.

Stacy~ I'm assuming by the who gets up that early question that you're referring to the plumbers....um yeah! They definately found out that I don't get up that early when I met them at the door with bed head and no makeup. I was dressed, but felt no need to look "presentable" at 7:30a.m. on a Sat. morning.

I accidentally (because I woke up and it was on that channel) watched Dr. Phil this morning. There is a couple on there who are divorced with teenage children. The parents have basically put the kids in the middle and bad-mouth (especially the mom) each other to the kids. Seriously....that's just wrong!!! If you don't get along with your spouse then it's not the kids' fault. Okay--off the soapbox!

Donna S - Feb 20, 2012 4:03 pm (#211 Total: 319)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Lauren - Adorable!!!

Katie - UGH!!!! Hope Alex feels better quickly. Not fun to spend a day off home with a sick kiddo. And yes, I did take a nap, and the world continued to spin. I was SOOOOOO tired!

Stacy - Seriously? What a lame-o.

Tracy - Go you!! Having teammates definitely holds you accountable.

Trying to figure out what to do today. We may just take a hang-out day and be lazy at home, especially since the kids are off tomorrow too. I'm not feeling in top form at the moment myself.

liams mommy - Feb 20, 2012 7:06 pm (#212 Total: 319)

Hi Share Friends! This is my first time in the Share Cafe, can't believe i've never posted here before!!
I don't really have anything to say, but hello - i haven't blogged much lately, but have been keeping up with everyone else's.
Talk to you soon

Akeelah's Mommy - Feb 20, 2012 7:22 pm (#213 Total: 319)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Jen- Nice to see you in the cafe! Super fun around these parts!

Donna- Oh my gosh... stay home... let the kids veg with the TV and enjoy yourself! You sooooo deserve a day not in the car!

Tracy- Yeah, that's lame!! What children those parents are!

Katie- Aw, sorry Alex isn't feeling well... hope she's better soon!

What is it with all these random winter breaks? I've never heard of such a thing! Schools here go from Christmas/Winter break straight through to Spring Break... never heard of a Winter break part two!

Relaxing today after the huge beach day yesterday!
