I hope not Samantha. No one is to follow in my footsteps! Hopefully it was just nerves waiting for the biopsy results... which were all good yes?! Unfortunately we're already officially riding the pre-e train... but our train seems to be stuck in 1st gear, which is a fabulous thing! Hopefully nothing knocks it outta first (and I don't think anything will) and puts us on a run away course.

Lauren my favorite gift I got would have to be the baby book. I started to right in it already. I also like the clothes we got. I was hopping for diapers and wipes but we didn't get many. I hope that you are doing alright and taking a easy.
Samantha sorry that you haven't been able to feel the flutters that you were before. I hope they came back soon for you.
So this morning my dad asked me how many days I had till my due date. I told him I didn't know I have 4 weeks. Well I got out the calander and counted the days. 24 days that is it. Where did the time go? I still thought I had a month. I am so happy that I have made it this far but knowing that I have just 24 days or less or more means I need to start getting things in order. Our bags are not even ready. Mine or Kai's. I am just so in love with feeling Kai move and having him safe inside me that I'm not all ready for him to come out. I want to see him but I have enjoyed this pregnancy so much I don't want it to end.
I hope everyone is having a nice relaxing memorial day and had a nice weekend.

Aw Samantha- sorry momma. One breathe, one step at a time right? I remember having a similar freak out with Micah's pregnancy when he was so small those flutters just weren't as reliable as I needed 'em to be. Hopefully lil' one picks up movement today and you find some reassurance and peace.
Laura- 24 days?! Egads! I totally hear you on wanting to stay pregnant... I really don't want this pregnancy to end either... It's such a special and limited time.
Just the other day we were saying how excited we were for Akeelah's birthday- we're spending it at a fancy hotel- then it dawned on me that if it's already her birthday that means this lil' one is getting evicted in like two weeks! Where has the time gone?!?!

Just a quick update. I'm so happy I made it to 37 weeks today!! I just can't beleive that in a few weeks or days our baby can be born and will be healthy. It makes me so happy to know that the March of Dimes helped me get this far along with my doctors support and family and friends. I was on progestrogen pills my pregnancy and I do believe that they helped me get this far. Thank you all for being here to support me. HUGS Laura

Laura,
Congrats on making it to 37 weeks!!! That is great!!
I am so glad that you have enjoyed this pregnancy and don't want it to end, that is fantastic. Samantha, I am in the exact same boat as you. I am about 4 weeks ahead of you (I think) so I feel the baby move around during the day, but definitely not consisently yet, like just a few periods of lots of movement throughout the day. I am sad a lot of the time, I don't think poor DH can't take the crying since so far we've had no bad news, just normal ultrasounds and check ups. But we had normal with Tucker up to this point, too..... Lauren, I hope your BP has been good lately, and I hope that your urine tests have shown normal or at least "normal" for you results! I am still very sad and anxious (see my last blog post), and I am 23 weeks today. I had to buy a maternity belt finally, my pain has been so bad. So the lady at the store was talking about how I needed to buy one size bigger because I had to have so much room to grow, and didn't I need nursing tops, etc.? So I just felt uneasy, especially since I hate clothes shopping to begin with! It did feel great to put the belt on, hopefully it helps a lot so that I can keep up with Tucker on the evenings.

Hi Laura,
enjoy these last few weeks! and don't worry about not eating enough of this or that -- go with what tastes good to you at the time and sits well with you. I lost a lot of my appetite for healthy stuff in both rainbow pregnancies ... and instead of worrying, i just went with it.

Laura- Rock on with your bad full term self!!! I'm so stinkin' excited for you!! You totally did it momma- with Jamez lookin' right over your shoulder the whole time. Leigh- I considered a maternity belt with Micah- those darn round ligament pains were ridiculous! I mean absolutely ridiculous- further proof men could NEVER withstand pregnancy if you ask me. I'm so sorry you're feelin' so sad- nothing like some pregnancy hormones mixed in with an already stressful situation to make everything seem haywire. I wish I could make promises that everything in the future would be smooth sailing- it bums me out we can't just know that. Right now things are good... celebrate while ya can momma and at the same time, we'll all keep crossables crossed that it stays that way. I'm feelin' pretty in control of this pregnancy... protein just a smidge higher than before, 465, blood pressure still cruisin in the 130s/60s with an occasional 14x/7x with the meds 2x a day (sounds like a weather report) and I passed my 3 hr GTT- failed one, but you have to fail 3 of the 4 for GD so I call it a solid A pass! Next stop 32 week anatomy scan/MFM consult and hopefully have a bit more of a solid plan for an induction.

Oh Lauren, great that your numbers aren't really going up! Almost 32 weeks? Yay!
So day one with the maternity belt gave me a lot of relief, yay!!
I have a short torso, though, so it pretty much covers a lot of my belly, then I have all of the other layers-undies, pants, under shirt, regular shirt....plus it's very stiff so all of those layers don't really lay right. So it feels weird and I want to take it off, but this evening I feel no pressure, Whoo hoo!
Baby boy was quiet all day, now that I'm home and the belt is off he's moving around. Next week I have an OB appt Tuesday then MFM appt with us Friday, wish me luck!

Oy momma! That is a lot of layers... especially in that southern heat of yours... but if it provides some relief it's worth it! I'm sure lil' man will be kicking through it in no time.
I know! I'm feeling pretty good about where we are... I know a lot can change in the next 6 weeks... but things seem very well managed with meds and worst comes to worst we have plenty of room to increase dosages.

I think I have felt my little man the last two days. Not regularly yet, but the moment I do I feel a little better. We get our crib today and I'm sooooo excited about that!
Awkward moment alert... SO when I did my registry at Target I wasn't impressed with the options to choose from so DH and I decided maybe baby's r us would be better. SOOO yesterday we went there and as I was filling out our registry and looked up and standing there was my HS sweet heart.we were together from 8th grade to almost. our senior year, he was there with his pregnant girlfriend. Neither of us said a word to each other it was just awkward. I know he saw me and then he was quick to leave the store, thank goodness. Things ended really bad between us and he was not very nice to me in the end! Anyways just a moment I wanted.to share.

Lauren, NOOO high blood pressure! Tell it to stop!! Did it get lower after a little rest? or was 150 the best you could get? Did they get you to take another 24 hour test? Samantha, I love the name! Ok...kind of a high risk pregnany issue, but maybe general pregnancy too. DH is usually such a healthy guy, and a non complainer. Well since I have been pregnant, he has been falling apart! I tell him to quit trying to hog all of the attention I am almost 24 weeks, and everything seems good, but of course I am tired and need more help around the house at night. So today he fell in the yard and twisted his ankle. The dr wants him off of his feet for one week, and to keep his leg propped up....in other words, watch video games while I take care of everything Just saying, isn't there a free pass for this type of thing when you're pregant??

I officially step down as manager next week and the tell you the truth I'm stoked!! I was even offer a position back on day shift and I'm so excited! Its less crazy and not nearly as intense as nights but the money is still okay! I can't wait to be home at night no more late night and I can be home with dh and Jadon. However this may interfere with my afternoon naps lol but I'm sure over time ill adjust. And just have to take late afternoon naps lol!! Kinda excited tho!!

Right?! Stupid BP. Lying down left side for an hour and a half I got it back down to 140/7x. It still stunk to see because our pattern is that once we hit a high it becomes the new high... like a levy breaks.
32 week scan shows baby looking awesome. I of course have polyhydramnois again... because hey why not... had it with Akeelah (severe) and Micah (mild). Our NSTs will be twice weekly now with fluid checks... we're well on our way if we didn't already pass Micah's 35 appointments! Also got confirmation that we don't go a day past 37. Booooo.

Hello to all the pregnant mamma's! It feels so strange to actually be posting something on this board....i've been stalking for awhile, but didn't know what to say, so anyways, here goes.
I'm 14w4d and doing good. my next appt is tomorrow morning, thank God!
Lauren- that bp thing just stinks...and i can't say i know what polyhydramnois is?? 32 weeks is great, only another 5, can you believe it! my doc won't let me go past 36 weeks....i'm just hoping my body can actually make it that long.
Samantha- no more nights sounds great! my DH is moving to nights in July, and I hate it. it's scary being in my house alone at night, such a baby i know. sometimes i find myself thinking about escape routes for me and Bella if i were to hear someone breaking in....sounds nuts i know!
Leigh- my DH does the same thing and it stinks! whenever it's my birthday, mothers day, etc, he's either sick, thrown his back out or something, lol.

Jennifer- I love seeing you 'round these parts! Hope tomorrow goes well! Polyhydramnois is too much amniotic fluid. What can I say... my kids all like their pool time from an early start! I will be keeping all crossables crossed that you make it to that 36 week finish line standing and with no bumps! Let me know if you (or anyone else) would like to be added to the expecting list!

Hi Jennifer, Welcome!
Lauren, thanks for the explanation, I didn't know what that meant either.
Samantha, great about switching off of the night shift.
Lauren, you can add me to the expecting list, due sept 27, Team Blue of course.
I learned yesterday (at regular OB appt) that the dr is fine with me trying a VBAC as long as I seem fine by 39 weeks. But she will not induce me, I would have to go into labor on my own and then see how things progress. I really don't care how the baby is born, my big concern was not being able to see him or hold him after a c-section. The dr said that he won't leave my side, even when being weighed and cleaned up, and DH can hold him right next to me (that is assuming he is off of crutches by then! The dr put him in a cast for 3 weeks, then he has to wear the boot and be on crutches for 3 more weeks, then we'll "see" how it goes! Infuriating!!)

I.have.to share a funny, yesterday morning before school we stopped by public and Jadon saw the sushi counter and said mommy you was sushi. I told him no Mommy didn't want sushi at 8 am nor do I eat it at all and I really can't have sushi when I'm pregnant. His responce was "ohhhh I get it you don't want sushi cause the baby will cone out
Japanese" ummmmmm yes exactly I don't want the baby to come out Japanese, I'd have a lot of explaining to do to dh... can see it now hunny "no I swear I was faithful.it was the sushi I ate" geezer the things kids say!!!

Lauren =( about the blood pressure and extra fluid. That's no fun.
Sam good to hear that your hours are getting changed and you won't have to much to worry about then. I'm sure you will be able to fit a nap in somewhere durring the day =)
Leigh that is awsome that your doctor is going to let you try a VBAC. and if it doesn't go that way the baby will still be close to you. Sorry your husband is stealing all your spot light and hogging the couch.
Jennifer welcome!
Kai is still hanging out turned 38 weeks today!! Gabe thinks that I will have him soon. I'm okay with having him soon but I still need my bag ready. I am hoping he holds off till after the 12 cause I'm getting my hair cut then and I really want it cut before I have him. I will really work on getting my bag and the little things that are left to get ready tomorrow and this weekend.
HUGS to all

Mom to Tucker (27 weeker, 05/26/06) |
|
|
Oh yay Laura, so excited for you!! Lauren, I hope your BP has gotten better. Tucker makes me check mine every day at home, he gets the cuff "mama put it on!" With my BP checks and breathing treatments, and DH"s complete helplessness, Tucker has become quite the nurse! I am total and complete shock....in a good way!!
Mom and I went to see the MFM doctor today, I have seen them for 6 week check ups, so today was for the 24 week check up. My BP was perfect!! It's been perfect at home, too, so I wasn't surprised by any wacky dr office BP issues. So the U/S tech did the U/S, I of course asked a million questions about every measurement. Easton is 24 weeks 1 day and weighs 1 pound 6 ounces, whoo hoo! Tucker was only 1, 11 at 27 weeks. The dr said Easton is growing very well, especially from where he was 6 weeks ago. He is very pleased, all of the adjectives he used were "wonderful" "amazing" "perfect' had me feeling pretty good! Then he shocked me and put my mom into tears, when he said I am no longer high risk....he said that he trained my OB himself, and she is very capable of leading me through this pregnancy to full term. He said their doors are always open, and if I have any issues at all to call them, but he thinks my OB care can best be handled by a regular OB.... I so want this to be true, keep everything crossed for us!!!!
