Leigh- Grumble!!! Did your BP not get the memo that I had been saying no whammies?! I'm hopeful that seeing 37 weeks is still totally possible. There's lots of room for intervention... BP meds.. keeping you in the freezer (aka a room with AC)... rest... all of which would totally stink to have to do since your pregnancy should be smooth sailing... but still options. And for what it's worth, my reframe is that you grow very strong babies! Given all the odds that Tucker has faced, that he has knocked them down in his own way is a testament to his strength and yours! This totally sucks momma and I wish ya didn't have any bumps whatsoever to deal with! May this be your one lil' bump!! Hey- Leigh's BP... Lauren here... I SAID... No Whammies!! Now shape up.

Very worried, 8 wks today and had bit of spotting yesterday am, wasn't much and went away, so I just went on with day. Then last night again, little more, and it felt weird. I'm going to see my new Ob later this morning.
The icky weird feeling I've only ever felt once before. It was when I started bleeding when trying to get pre-term labor to stop. Hope this isn't what I think it is... sigh.

Whew, still a heartbeat. Saw another Ob in the practice & like her too, so thats good. She said "if you see a heartbeat, there's 95% chance there WON'T be a miscarriage", so thats a relief. Saw a nice heartbeat, and what she can tell placenta is in a good place and cervix looks okay, whew, whew, and whew. My bp was way high, but just cause I was freaking out, I'm sure its fine now. Hope this doesn't happen again...
I did get my 1st Rho-gam injection for this pregnancy (lucky me, Rh- blood type)

I hope that is the last of your scares during this pregnancy, you deserve 32 more uneventful weeks!!

Ay, that's very scary! I'm glad baby is ok. I know we've had mommas on Share that have dealt with a lot of spotting throughout their pregnancy and gone on to have healthy full term babies (albeit stressful pregnancies dealing with all the spotting!)

Samantha - I remember trying to figure out if things were "normal" or "problematic" each time I felt a new pain or sensation. I hated that constant fear!
But don't feel silly if you need to call the dr, that's what they get paid for and your obviously not the "ignorant, first time mom" that they might be annoyed with for calling all the time. Do what you need to in order to ease your mind.
Hugs,
Jackie

Reality Check
Today as Im helping my dear friend who is throwing my baby shower the reality that I may actually bring this baby home is setting it. WOW I never thought we'd ever be here again. Its been so long. 6 years since Ive held a child of my own in my arms and 8 years since I heard my newborn baby's sweet cry. After 5 1/2 years of trying and a m/c I never thought Id be here. 28 weeks 3rd trimester it seems like a dream and Ill wake up any minute! Wow am I really only 12 weeks from bringing this baby home. My friend just sent me a picture of the invitations and I just cried, maybe its preggo hormones, Trinitys birth/passing date 8 days away, or IDK. Crazy! Thank you all for your love and support. Cant wait to hug you all!

Samantha- I am very hopeful that this dream will have the happy ending of a take home baby... 12 weeks... wow! Monday I'm going for my 6 week PP at the fancy hospital. I'm really anxious to get the placental pathology... I remember after she was born the doctor saying they would do one.. but now I'm wondering since I don't remember signing anything if they did! I really hope so! I want to know about the abruption and any other damage from my BP.. So far my BP is down to a "normal" range... but still high for my pre-preggo norm. Still time for it to go back down, but I'm wondering if 120s over high 70s/mid 80s is going to be my new normal. I'm no longer on meds... kinda just forgot to take them after a while and since my BP is no longer a threat to baby the motivation is gone... I know. Bad Lauren take your meds.

Sam good luck with your shower! I'm sure it will be hard, but also great in some ways. I see your posts on facebook about loving all of Jaxon's kicks (I hope I spelled his name right!) He needs to be celebrated and so do you Lauren, good luck with the BP! I don't think that 120s over 70s/mid80s sounds too bad, but I know that my pre-pregnancy BPs were more like 110/70, so we'll see how I am after this pregnancy. I turned in my 24 hour collection this morning, I'll go to see my OB tomorrow for an ultra sound and appointment and to get the results. I'll update some time tomorrow, my BP has looked great all weekend. Leigh

Leigh please update as soon as possible. Hoping you avoid a hospital stay as long as possible.
Dr appointment in the morning hoping for another fFN test. Been having sharp pains that make me nervous and the Dr never called back last Friday when I called. Hoping the fFN test will help ease my mind that all is still going smooth. Sat he moved like crazy and then yesterday and today very little movement. That adds to my worries. I also have a growth scan next week. I know things have gone great and BP has remained good however I feel like its just a waiting game before everything spirals out of control. Maybe.its Trinitys bday this week adding to my anxiety but the anxiety is rearing is ugly head and I though I had control Over it....NOPE!
PS. Please.pray for a friend whose nephew was born 9 weeks early today. She developed pre-e and they had.to.take baby early! He's doing okay as of now but has a breathing tube and moms on magnesium.
Ill update after my appointment.

No whammies ladies!! I hope both your appointments are in the morning so that by the time I wake up they are already updates. Samantha- I'll keep your friend in my thoughts.. and you tomorrow at your appointment- good luck! Leigh- I'm still putting my pennies on 735.. or lower! Come on <735!! Feeling pretty defeated. Got told more kiddos would not be a good idea, pathology showed a sick lil' placenta.. literally very small for gestation among other things... and my bp 129/95... 95!? Pre preggo I was lucky to break 70. Something's still sick and I don't know if it actually will get better.

Lauren- sorry you didn't get good news and sorry about the BP. I know you had talked about this being your last but hearing the Dr say that it wouldn't be a good idea has to sting a little.
Nervous about my appointment I don't know why but I am. Praying for no whammies and maybe some reassuring news. DH is working a late shift so ill.be going to the appointment alone. I always hate that cause anytime I've ever gone to an appointment alone is when the whammies happened, with both Jadon and Trinity.

Lauren - Sorry for the lousy report at the drs office. Like Samantha said, it's one thing to decide yourself, but another to hear someone else make that decision for you.
And hopefully your BP was off more than usual b/c you were nervous. I've had problems with my blood sugars since having kids, granted I've gotten much sloppier with my meds too, so I understand where you are coming from! Samantha - Hope it goes well today! Leigh - Any news?

Thanks ladies. It totally stinks to hear it from someone else. Total fail moment. Still going to see our local OB and probably run the pathology report past our old MFM since I don't speak pathology fluently.
Samantha- Good luck!
Let's continue to send good wishes to Leigh who got admitted and her first round of steroids. It's looking like lil' Easton will be joining us earlier rather than later. Keep crossables crossed for at least another few days!

Leigh, good thoughts/prayers coming your way. I’ve been thinking about you.
Sam, glad to hear you had a good appointment. Here’s to many more and hope the growth scan next week is right on target!
Lauren, I hope your other drs can clearly explain the placenta issue and what it means for you.
For me it was therapeutic to read about placenta issues. My drs were stunned James was correct size for gestation, as placenta path report showed only 5% functional tissue. 95% of it was non-functional connective tissue!!! Wow! The drs couldn’t understand how he was correct size for gestation… I say nature has a way of compensating, so even something on the path report that looks bad can still manage to function okay.
I like biology & spent time reading placenta path texts and literature (nerdy yes, but therapeutic). If you want to give a try looking anything up yourself, a good source is: Path. of Human Placenta, Benirschke & Kauffman, 4th ed. 2000.
Just called the MFM where I will have my 1st tri scan, and 2nd tri detailed u/s. Was stressing not knowing how these appointments would run (not the same crappy MFM office that saw me last time). The new office will have an MD see me along with the u/s tech. Yay! At the old MFM the dr never came in to see me, it was only the u/s tech, and it was those two scans that might have been able to detect the placenta defect if it ever could have been... The what-ifs of wondering if that dr had only come in to exam me too... So relieved new MFM will have both tech & dr exam.
I'm trying to decide if I should write/send a literature article to the new MFM. I don't want to seem too pushy, but at the same time I want them to be so so so so careful in their exam.

Natalie- That is amazing! And what a testament to how tough your lil' James was. Thank you for the resource, I'm gaining understanding of what our report means, but now missing the context. I'm looking forward to getting our local OBs eyes on it in a few weeks. So glad you've found a better doctor's office, where you will be able to see the MFM in person at each appointment. I know techs can't officially finalize an u/s report, so I'm sure a doctor looked over each u/s to sign off on it.. but you're right to have wanted their actual eyes on it. There's always so many what ifs... I think MFMs are really weird.. I mean, I think all doctors are and I completely heart my doctors... but there is still something different about someone who wants to work 24/7 and specialize in something.... My husband works with surgeons and says the same.. they are just a different kind of people, especially when it comes to their work and even the perception of being questioned. I wouldn't send a letter.. but I would keep the research in your back pocket as your ace in the hole. So that when you're talking maybe slip in, "Oh yeah that reminds me of something I read..." I don't care what folks say about it not mattering if the office and doctor "likes" you... I think it does, and I always brought food around holidays. That way when I was being pushy later on, they knew I was the one that kept their sweet tooth satisfied.

Took a trip yo the er at 3am. After over 12 hours of not feeling little man move, BP and all looked good and so did Jaxson. The on call on for the hospital did s quick u/s and all looked good. I however feel there wasn't a lot of fluid and was a little concerned. Dr said it looked okay but ill be glad to have my growth scan on Monday and learn the actual numbers and hope I am wrong. Jaxson has been much more active tonight and that eases my mind a little. Heading to bed meeting Jadon's teacher in the morning!!!
