Freaking out
Katie87 - 04:15am Apr 7, 2012 ESTHello all, I went over to my cousin's house tonight and she has a boy that is a year old who just went for his check up yesterday and got three shots. When I got there I noticed he sounded congested and she said he woke with the sniffles and has been tired due to the shots... Why o why did I stay? Now i'm going to worry about my baby. He didnt touch her but I let my cousin hold her... He was around her for maybe two hours... Was this a mistake? I selfishly stayed but I just felt like she would tell me if she thought he was sick... I feel like i've failed protecting her. Any thoughts?

Thanks everyone Emma Kate is doing well and talked to my cousin the next day and her little boy was just fine. I enjoyed myself; I'm starting to catch up with people that I miss so much from being in quarantine for the past several months. Emma Kate goes for her six month check up thursday and will be getting the third round of shots and we were fortunate enough to have gotten one last synagis last week. I know she will get sick and I do want her to build immunity; just want her to be a bit bigger; she is still such a tiny little girl Good to hear from everyone and cheers to spring

Katie, it can be so hard to slowly let them out of the protective bubble we try to keep our kiddos in. Just know that it's OK to stay, no matter how hard you try Emma Kate will get sick and it will be through no fault of your own. Some germs are good, it helps build her immunity, germs in very low doses of course I know it's hard but take some time for yourself, it doesn't make you a bad mom it makes you a great mom!
