A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Stacy- Yeah, it's all a work in progress. Our angel avenue and family team tent gets better every year.

Donna- No way... middle school? That's insane!

Lindsay- Go get 'em momma bear!

Katie- Yeah, not sure about making an extra activity for Teacher Appreciation... thought that counts... but always seemed to me working in schools that just giving free time is the best gift ever!

Lance is sure to get choke food at work this week (a nurse), though when I told him he was bummed because he says the pharmaceutical companies and reps give the best food and gifts and this week it will probably just be from the state run hospital and doctors... ungrateful! I'm sure there is a Social Worker's Day and I'm sure I've never gotten anything on it!

NathansMom13 - May 8, 2012 12:28 am (#51 Total: 236)

Come to ShareUnion 2012: It's the BEST weekend ever!!!

So super duper proud of Nathan who ate a VERY small bite of grilled cheese at a restaurant yesterday and then today he drank a yogurt smoothie... making progress, slowly but surely

    Jackie G - May 8, 2012 2:14 pm (#56 Total: 236)

Mom to a 25 weeker who is now 8 years old and a 38.5 weeker who is now 6

Jess - That book sounds soooo sweet! What a doll! Much more impressive than my son's book he wrote entitled "how to beg for an ifon (iphone)"

Laura - That's awesome! Go Nathan!

Katie - Do what YOU would appreciate doing and if that is just going home, than do it with a smile - Happy Teacher Appreciation week!

    God Bless all you teachers!!

    Akeelah's Mommy - May 8, 2012 3:15 pm (#57 Total: 236)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Jackie- LOL! That's pretty ingenious too. And how do you beg for an iPhone?

    Island hopping today...

    Jackie G - May 8, 2012 5:56 pm (#58 Total: 236)

Mom to a 25 weeker who is now 8 years old and a 38.5 weeker who is now 6

Well, Lauren, begging for an iphone appears to be pretty simple and I must say he is successful in getting to play with mine a lot! (He just begs to play luckily, not to get his own... although he asks for one for every birthday and holiday we come to.)

Here is the text in his book (and yes, spelling is something we need to work on):

Page 1: "Frst ask fo ifon, if it dus not wuk ask ugen."
includes a drawing of him asking "Can i play ifon"

Page 2: "Ask ugen and ugen"
includes a drawing of him saying "cen i ples, can i ples"

Last page: "Cep asking itil she ses yes" along with a picture of what is presumably an iphone.

    So stinking cute LOL

    Enjoy your island hopping!

I just came home from grocery shopping only to find that a bird flew in the house while I was unloading groceries. Luckily I was able to open the window next to him and get him to fly out so it was not super dramatic, but ugh! Not what I needed today!

At least it's nice and I'm headed out for a run...

    Akeelah's Mommy - May 8, 2012 6:57 pm (#59 Total: 236)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

    Lol! that is classic!

Rental company gave me a Leaf to drive... it is SO cool! Its silent... and no exhaust pipe! So much fun!

    stacyat - May 8, 2012 7:16 pm (#60 Total: 236)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Lauren: Haha!! Those reps really do bring the best stuff though! The lovenox peeps brought us whole hog for lunch once at the hospital.....mmmmm best BBQ in the Little Rock area! Speaking of.....I'll be eating some of that a week from tomorrow! Safe travels! A leaf......? Gonna go google

Laura: Go Nathan!! Grilled cheese is always a hit with kids, they can't resist! Awesome steps forward!

Jessica: Wow, 19 weeks already?! Whatcha doing on June 2? Want to meet for lunch in little Italy? Maybe Geri and Dawn too if they're around. I'd love to meet Maddie!

Jackie: HAHA!! That's the cutest book ever! Reframe: At least the bird didn't poo in your house?

I would seriously pay someone to come and do my laundry and dishes. I hate those chores, they're neverending! The moms club I'm in has nominated me for president and administrative vice president. Um....gee, no thanks! I've got enough to do right now especially with Charles being out of town soon!

    NathansMom13 - May 8, 2012 7:24 pm (#61 Total: 236)

Come to ShareUnion 2012: It's the BEST weekend ever!!!

Ha ha ha, I liked Stacy's reframe that the bird didn't poop in your house!

Today the president (Obama) was in town for some stupid speech. Now, I have no feelings one way or the other about him (I'm not political at all) but TONS of roads were closed around us for "security reasons" and because of that and that we live super close to the airport, Nathan was over an hour late getting home from school. He told me he didn't think he would ever get off the bus. He was on it for 1:45 - wayyy to long for a little kid.

Lauren I'm going to have to google a Leaf, now I'm curious. Hope you had fun island hopping.

OK, I'm off to go rescue the cat from Trevor

    Donna S - May 8, 2012 7:57 pm (#62 Total: 236)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Jess - Too sweet! Can't wait to see it. Wahoo on 19 weeks!

Jackie - Cracking up. Glad you got the bird out.

Laura - That is too long for a child to be on the bus. Ugh. Good luck with the cat rescue! Go Nathan!!!!

Lauren - Those cars are totally cool. Wish they had a crossover version. Happy Island Hopping!

Stacy - Good to know when to say no. And I'd pay someone to do my laundry and dishes too. YUCK!

Starting every other week of therapy for Ethan instead of every week. His therapist thinks he's ready. Blogging. So much going on this week......

    Akeelah's Mommy - May 8, 2012 10:54 pm (#63 Total: 236)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

wow. I was just given a 5% chance of making it to 37 weeks. Kinda wishing the replacement mfm had a lil more faith in me! Yeeeesh. Love an honest doc but come on

    Donna S - May 8, 2012 11:14 pm (#64 Total: 236)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Seriously Lauren? Debbie Downer MFM needs a bop on the head. We'll take that 5% and rock it. You got this. Hugs Momma. He/she doesn't know who you have in your corner.

    stacyat - May 8, 2012 11:33 pm (#65 Total: 236)

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!

Laura: Ugh, they did that here too. Luckily I knew he was coming so planned on steering clear of the city and base on that day!

Donna: Yay for the therapist thinking he's improved enough to go to every other week!

Lauren: Psssh, remember what my OB said when I was somewhere in the range of 26-28 weeks? She said I'd be having a preemie, most likely around 34 weeks and look at my little full termer! They don't know everything!

Ok, off to ladies night. She's made stuffed peppers and chocolate chili fondue......we shall see

    lvazquez - May 9, 2012 12:11 am (#66 Total: 236)

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Lauren - Happy island hopping! Urgh, you don't need to hear that stuff. La, la, la . . . as you put your fingers in your ear. Stay positive:)

Jessica - Congrats on 19 weeks! I bet that li'l book that Maddie made is super adorable!

Stacy - Ladies' Night sounds yummy! Eat some for me will ya?

Donna - Every other week is wonderful for your son, right?

IEP meeting went well. Tired though.

    Akeelah's Mommy - May 9, 2012 6:46 am (#67 Total: 236)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

Yes, I am very much looking forward to being in that 5%. Where there's a will there's a way!

Lindsay- Glad the mtg went well... they are exhausting... so much riding on a meeting.

Donna- Good news? Are ya feelin' the same as the therapist... I'm off to read your blog.

Laura- Aw, poor kiddo! That's a long time for anyone to sit in traffic... let alone a lil' kiddo!

Highlight of the day, besides baby measuring on track while mommy's bp falls apart... the electric car!! It's sooooooooo cool! I had such a blast driving it!

    lvazquez - May 9, 2012 1:55 pm (#68 Total: 236)

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Lauren - Yay on baby measures, but poop on the BPs. That car does sound super fun:) Hang in there lady!

Still digesting yesterday's meeting. Lots to take in and wonder about, but I'll pounce again two weeks before school starts.

    Donna S - May 9, 2012 2:49 pm (#69 Total: 236)

Mom to Ryley, 26 weeker, Grace and Ethan, full-termers

Lindsay - It always takes me a few days to process. So much to take in. Good plan to stay on top of it.

I do tend to agree with Ethan's therapist. He has reached a stable place, for him. I do get that as he develops, we will likely have new issues to deal with and it's not as if we can't add appointments back in if he starts going sideways. Summer will be a good test. Once he's out of routine, or starting a new one, we start to see the "fun" behavior. She is going to see him every other week throughout the Summer. Safety net.

One of my nephews is in town for a few days. He wants to go to school down here and is trying out for California Allstars (a competition cheerleading team). Fun to hang out with him and show him around.

    Akeelah's Mommy - May 9, 2012 5:12 pm (#70 Total: 236)

A moment in our arms, a lifetime in our hearts.

So funny story, yesterday my mom took Micah to the beach and they were playing in the tide pools where there are tons of lil' fish and critters. And she noticed him making "the" face and asked him what he was doing. And very matter o' factly he said, "Poopin' on da fish." Too funny!

Lindsay- Pounce- love it. You go momma bear.

Donna- Have fun with your nephew. For what it's worth, have you ever tried purposely imbedding surprise good things in the day? I've had kiddos have a lot of success reframing surprise as something super cool that we're all excited about. So the whole family knows that there is a change in the schedule coming, and everyone talks about it with excitement, and then at the beginning it's something really small and really fun (like a special dessert) and the kids know exactly when the change is coming. Kinda retrains the brain and starts to provide kids memories of being successful around change- which often times they have no memories of being successful when things go not as planned.

    liz loschinskey - May 9, 2012 7:29 pm (#71 Total: 236)

    I love my kids!

Donna, awesome on the fundraising! Holy! Middleschooler!!!
    Will read blog after this.
Lindsay, Good luck with the kinder meeting!

Katie, Happy teacher appreciation week! I'm not sure what I'd do on the movies. YaY! for boat days!

Stacy, I had to laugh. Our walk, we handed out butterflies. Let me rephrase...I handed out the butterflies after the walk because, I was supposed to pass them out for the release before the walk, then that got pushed back to after the walk, then got deleted out of our whole walk. It was too cold to release. (never went over 50*) I had a few upset parents who were unable to memorialize their kiddo's. Also, exciting to get nominated for such important roles in your mom's club.

Lauren, poor Lance and yick food. Totally jealous of island hopping. 5%? I mean, I'd rather brutal honesty than someone sugar coating. And you are stronger than that, anyway. It's only a number, coming from someone that doesn't know exact science's. Awesome on measuring wonderfully and at the electric car.

Laura, HOLY HOORAY FOR GRILLED CHEESE!!!! Eww 1.45 hour bus ride. Dumb president.

Jessica, *tear filled eyes* That Maddie is something else. And I'm confident you will have an uneventful pregnancy!

Jackie, Hi! Yikes on the bird in the house. We had a bat in our house once....I've never seen my cat jump so high before as to attack that thing.

    Tracey, happy Teacher appreciation week!!

Holy 34 posts I was behind! The weather here has been extremely unkind. So unkind it flooded our house. This is where I've been the past few days. We spent alot of money putting french drains in for this very reason. The damage isn't bad, but there none the less, and my whole house smells like wet basement. Mental note-Don't leave the dirty laundry sitting in front of the washer on the floor to get soaking wet. (it doesn't matter it needed washed anyway, but still) We've 2 dehumidifiers running right now. With that unkind weather came 60 degree temps, from our 80-90 last week. My dog. My dog, my dog, my dog. The brat just cries at the bottom of the steps. Barks, and barks, and barks until someone comes in her visual. All well and good unless it is 2,3,4,5,6 in the morning. Took her back to the vet for another urine and blood labwork, still waiting on those answers.
One bonus to things around here, T hasn't puked since 4/22, today is the 9th. Woot! Her OT therapist says she's doing wonderfully. Her developmentalist always tells us that.
    It's freaking raining, again....boooo!!

    bbl...

    liz loschinskey - May 9, 2012 8:20 pm (#72 Total: 236)

    I love my kids!

ps-anyone who was at SU...Do you by chance remember the table I was sitting at(Libby, Tracy(jacoby's mom),Jen Bradley(life without liam)....two people to the left of me sat a beautiful indian backgrounded young lady, and for the life of me, I can't remember her name or how to contact her here to see how she is doing....Anyone know?

pss-T's been napping for over 2 hours now...AMEN!

    lvazquez - May 9, 2012 9:52 pm (#73 Total: 236)

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Liz - I'm so sorry for the weather in your neck of the woods. How horrible for you guys! And it's raining again?! Hope you get a break soon lady. I think her name is Sunitha? If that's the person we're both thinking about, she works at the main office in White Plains, NY. Just e-mail James.

Donna - Yeah, when they get out of their (school) routine. That will be interesting to see for us as well. OMG, my little guy has started to put various stuffed animals (one only at a time, but limited to three now) in his underpants so there is a huge bulge. We don't react to it because I know that's what he's looking for. Hard to keep big brother from laughing though. So, I've taken 2 of the 3 animals and put them "on vacation." Another word he's now worked into his vocabulary. The bear has gone fishing and the elephant is looking for peanuts. Haven't taken frog away yet, but you know what's coming next:) I have a feeling if anything is missing in his environment, he'll equate it with vacation. Love that part from Forrest Gump. "He's on vacation."

Have fun with nephew showing him the sites. Lots to do there:)

    Lauren - So cute!!!

Liz- Dang you get a lot of rain momma! Yeeesh.

Lindsay- Ooooh love the "on vacation" that's genius! I would have a hard time not laughing too!

Sorry mommas, just had to share. This is one water bebe.

Totally jealous of Micah. Look how clear that water is.

    Love the picture!

Yes, yes, you lovelies, up since 6 with that dog. I say that with such hatred, but I really love her.

Glad I'm not the only one up at ungodly hours. It's 4am. I don't see why from an evolutionary standpoint you can't sleep while pregnant... we should have evolved to get the best sleep of our lives during pregnancy since it all goes out the window once baby is here...

Liz- Water here is extremely clear.. he um... is at the pool though... which thankfully was also clear!
