27 weeker now 4 months and doing great

Our little girl, Ayla Elizabeth was born on Sept. 27,2004 at 27 weeks. Her birth weight was 1lb. 14oz. but she lost 7oz. the first week. She was just 13 inches long. We brought her home Dec. 3 - the best Christmas present ever. Although she is still on an apnea monitor, she is doing great and weighs almost 8 lbs, which seems huge to us! After having her here at home for the past couple months the NICU days seem more and more distant all the time. There was a time when it felt like we would never get out of the NICU. Now that she's home I can't imagine spending one night away from her ever again!
