Giving Back

I have been trying to get help from friends and family to get things for the NICU my son was in. They did so much for us that I need to give back to them as a way of saying thank you and to also help me heal. The problem is, no one is helping. I have hand painted 60 Christmas ornaments and have started knitting hats and tying blankets, but I can't do it all. I would love to be able to go into a buisness and ask for donations but, they would think I'm a scammer or something.... Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
