Our April 2012 Shining Star: Ellen

Mom to Emilyn and Hailey (our 20 week angels) and Elim (our 38 week, full term miracle)!
We are pleased to announce our April Shining Star is Ellen (esgf), author of blog Our Abigail
When Abigail was two years old Ellen was searching for information on failure to thrive, feeding tubes and other GI issues and happened across Share. She looked around for awhile but never really stayed around or posted. After a few months she decided to come back and check it out again and discovered it was like a second home to her!
Ellen has been a long-time volunteer here at Share and has held multiple positions on the volunteer committee including Resource Group Co-Chair and committee member. She also volunteers for the March of Dimes on the Family Team Committee for the March for Babies and is entering her fifth year as her team’s captain for the march.
One of her favorite things about Share is that she is with other mothers who just get it, they speak the same language, understand Abigail’s past and the uncertainties that lay in her future. Now that Abigail is doing much better she feels able to share more stories of hope with other members, though from time to time still needs a bit of Share time to get through difficult days such as parent-teacher conferences knowing that some of the problems Abigail faces come from her birth that came too soon.
Please join me in thanking Ellen for all that she has done for the March of Dimes and Share Your Story! We appreciate everything you do for us, and are honored to count you among our Share family members! We couldn’t do it without you!
