    Re: anyone here from Colorado?

Hello! I am from Colorado, the mom of a preemie and also a March of Dimes employee! My son was born nearly 4 years ago (his birthday is July 22) at 36 weeks. He was healthy and had no major health issues. I owe his health to my doctors, who successfully stopped my preterm labor 4 times between 31 and 36 weeks. Without this success, my son would have likely spent weeks in the NICU.

I know there are tons of parents of preemies and NICU babies in Colorado, but how do we get them to come to this site?

    Hello Neighbors!
I am also from Colorado. I am so glad to see you both here! I am also the mother of a preemie. Our son was born at 26 weeks in January of 2003. He is now 2 1/2 and awesome! He has NO effects from his traumatic birth to date. We could not be any luckier.
I am currently doing volunteer work w/the MOD. Specifically the "Signature Chefs" event coming up soon. I am so impressed with all that they do and I want to continue to support their efforts.
I am hoping to see more locals on this page soon!! Best wishes to all!!

    Renee-
Congratulations on your son's success! It is truly amazing how some babies can go through so much and show no long-term effects! It's great that you're volunteering for Signature Chefs. That is a great event with fabulous food!

I work for MOD and run a program that provides support and education to families currently experiencing a NICU hospitalization. If you want to learn more call or email the MOD office and ask to talk to me.

    Continues success with your son!

    Higher Elevation a Problem?

    Hey POPS in Colorado!

Have you been told of any problems for your preemies due to the higher elevation? We live in Wisconsin and my daughter was born at 28 weeks and had a very mild form of chronic lung disease. Our friends and family live in the Colo/Wyo area and we want to bring her out there for XMAS this year - any feedback? Is it safe in the "thinner air?"

I am new to the area. I used to live in Durango but my hubby's job brought us to the SLV. Is anyone going to be at the Walk in Alamosa next week? Would love to meet some fellow Share members if you are around!
