Do you have a lot of contractions? Even what just feel like tightening...more like an irritable uterus? I know that doctors often feel that irritable uterus does not affect the cervix, but that is just not the case for some women. If this is happeneing I would recommend trying another medication such as Procardia or Terbuteline. There are others, so I would discuss it with your doctors even if that means calling them right now.
Also, I know 2.2 is short and you are doing nothing, but there is still cervix left and the stitch is still in place and the funneling is not worse. I am sure you are scared out of your mind right now and I'm sure you're very frustrated due to all of the procautions you are taking. Please know that it does not mean you will deliver early...there are many women on Share and in the world that have made it full term with the situation you are in and in some cases even worse. I'm sure that is not the most comforting thing as your emotions are very strong and real and very understandable. You have every right to be worried about your baby, but please try to stay postive...it is one of the best things you can do. Keep resting and keep drinking water and doing everything you can...that in itself will hopefully help you know you are doing the best you can.
I wish you the best and keep your head up, but know it's ok to be worried, scared and sad about this. We're "here" for you to lean on and ask questions. I'm sure others will chime in shortly.
Thinking of you,
Kristyn

update: Had Dr appointment today and good news. Cervix measured 2.6 with no funneling!
Re: update
That is fantastic! I hope that things continue to go well for you and your little bun in the oven! Keep resting and keep us posted! I have to check in all of the time to check in on the other preggo women!
Congrats on a good report.

to Hopefully Mommy - Glad to see your update. I know hearing about someone elses story isn't always helpful but please know that I was very short early on, it was too late for a cerclage, I was hospitalized at 23 weeks, released to left lying bedrest at 28 and my GORGEOUS healthy daughter was born at a booming 34 weeks - and will be 3 this month, as healthy, bright and articulate (with great lungs!) as you could ever want. Anything - and all good things - can happen. You have my wishes and prayers added to yours.

Update
So I had my dr appointment today and they said that there was no change. I know that this a good thing, but I get frustrated because I don't get the same person looking at my scan. They said there was no change from two weeks ago, but two weeks ago my cervix was shorter arrrrrgh!!!!!!

I can understand your anger... it sucks to know that things aren't going your way. But I will keep my fingers crossed that the stitch does what it is supposed to do!

I'm 20 weeks
Although last week was a tough appointment, today marked a milestone. I've never made it this far. At my appointment there was no change and the stitch is holding firm. Small but monumental steps.

Scared :(
So I went to the doctor and my cervix is less than 1cm with the stitch. I am 23 weeks. The doctor said that I might be admitted to the hospital next week. They also said that they will start me on steroids as well.

I'm sorry to hear that but do know that there have been women in your position who have still gone on to carry their baby for quite a few more weeks.
Don't give up hope yet!

I'm sorry that you are down to 1 cm but you have come so far on hope so please don't give up yet. The steroids are good for the lungs and hopefully you won't need them for awhile.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Scared :(
That stinks! I'm sorry that is happening with your pregnancy. I am sure you are very worried and know we are here for you. I am hoping Julie will pop on here soon...she was down to .5 and has made it a number of weeks. I know of other women that have had this as well...so, keep your head up and come here any time you need to vent! Good luck and know we are all crossing our fingers for you and your little one Kristyn

Six Months Update
Well...today I am officially six months. They have started me on steroid shots. I had a shorter cervical length last week but this week it looked better so they sent me home. They would rather me be home anyway.

Re: Six Months Update
Glad to hear your cervical length was longer! That is great news...I hope it continues for you Will they do the steriods in 48 hours and then continue that on every two or so weeks? Or just a one time thing? Good luck! Kristyn
