Roberts Birth

Simmons6 - 11:51pm Apr 17, 2012 EST

Robert Matthew Dean Simmons was born March 8,2012 at 3:32pm weighing 3lbs 1oz 15 1/2 inches at 27weeks and 6days.He is our fourth baby and third living child, two years ago we lost our third child at 35weeks from a medical overlook that led to a placenta abruption. So i was high risk with Robert the whole pregnancy. The morning of Roberts birth was normal and like any other day.I was only in the hospital a week when that afternoon,i thought my pains in my back and dizziness was like any other day of pains.I had to use the bathroom and thats when a huge gush came out.My nurse had a horror look in her eyes, thats when i realized it was blood coming out and it wasnt stopping,i was abrupting again!!I started to go into shock,my blood pressure was dropping and i thought this was it,i lost my son and now im dying. All i remember was me in the OR and them cutting my clothes off and then i was out.I woke up in the ICU finding out our son was ok and on his was to the NICU 2hrs away.I had to have 5 blood transfusions and had alot of trauma to my uterus but all that matters is Robert is here safe and is getting bigger a stronger everyday.

Mom to Donovyn (32 weeker), Tristyn (34 weeker), and Naethyn (30 weeker born sleeping)

Welcome to Share. Congratulations on the birth of baby Robert! I am glad to know that you BOTH are okay. Good that you were already at the hospital. I am guessing you were admitted and on bedrest until you delivered. I also lost my third baby to a placental abruption and had an unwanted transfer of care to someone inexperienced with my condition. I also had multiple transfusions to save my life. You stop counting the bags after awhile. It definitely gives one pespective. I am AMAZED by your strength and truly hope to read more about Robert.
