Joseph Portugal
Trinity8409 - 05:20pm May 30, 2012 ESTHi everyone. My baby Joseph Enrique Portugal was born on July 26, 2011. He was 3'14oz at birth. He spent a month in the NICU at Miller Childrens Hospital in Long Beach,CA. He now is doing better other than he might have Cerebal Palsy and he has to do physical therepy 3 times a week. He is also has developmental delays, the doctors say he is at a 3-5 month old when he is only 9 months old. Please pray for him to get better.

Welcome to Share. Congratulations on your son Joseph! I don't think anything can ever prepare a parent for an early arrival or a child facing life-long challenges, but it sounds like you are handling things very well. The NICU journey is one that no parent will ever forget and sometimes takes years and months to process all that your baby has endured. I'm glad to know that he has therapies in place and hope that you will continue to see improvement little by little.

Welcome to Share and congratulations on your baby boy, Joseph!
Many of our kiddos have developmental delays and received therapy. The work therapist do with our children is truly amazing! Sometimes it just takes time for our kids to reach their goals.
It sounds like you are doing a great job with your baby boy. Good luck!

Hello and welcome to share. Thank you for sharing Joseph's story. There are so many families on this site who are also struggling with their children's delays. It is great that he is going to therapy. I hope he can continue to meet his goal

Hi and welcome to Share. It sounds like Joseph is doing well. It took my son almost 2 years until he was coughs up developmentally. I lived my sons therapists, they really helped. Good luck!
