Hey ladies I'm going to be in Houston Friday, Sat., and Sunday just wondering if any of you wanted to meet or get in touch. We'll be taking Isabella to the Children's museum on Saturday. I know everyone is busy so no problem if we can't meet or talk. Just thought I'd let everyone know .

    Another Texan Here

I'm new to Share and trying to learn how everything works here.

I'm from Houston but I live in Splendora, which is right outside of Houston. I'm pretty close to many other cities too. My first preemie was born at Memorial Hermann but my second preemie (my little angel in the sky) was born in Temple.

I hope to meet some Texans and make some friends.

My son ryan was there from may 7th to july 23rd. I loved them. The nurse were so sweet. They felt like our second family. My husband is a soldier and was supposed to go in the feild for 3 weeks and there wrote a letter to his CO to get him to stay behind. They also tried to do whatever they could for us.

P.S. Im new to this site and im not sure how to start my own post or where to do my intro.

    Volunteer in Texas???

How can I volunteer in Texas? I can't seem to find anything locally for Houston or surrounding areas.

Mom to a feeder and grower born June 2004 almost 33 wks 2lb 13 oz.

    Hi VanessaB!
I think it is great that you want to be a volunteer for Mod!!

I have a couple of links here that might help lead you in the right direction. The first is a link to events that are happening around your great state of Texas click here for Mod Texas Chapter

You can locate the Houston office at this address:
    Houston Division

    Address: 3000 Weslayan, #100
    Houston, TX, 77027
    Phone: (713) 623-2020
    Fax: (713) 964-5417

I'm sure they would be happy to hook you up with Share brochures to deliver and will be able to tell you about any local volunteer opportunities.

Here in the Get Involved section we also have a folder called 'Getting local'. In this folder you can connect with other members who live in your great state. Here is a link to that folder

Click here for Getting Local - Texas

We have several members here at Share who live in Texas. As a matter of fact, this year's ShareUnion is being held in Houston! It will be mid October so keep an eye out for more info as the date gets closer. I would love it if you can come!

I hope this helps! Thanks again for your interest in volunteering!

    Houston Area Moms of Preemies

    Hey everyone!
I am a mother of 2 boys (one of which was a preemie born at 24 weeks gestation) living in the Cypress Texas area. I am walking with my family for the March for Babies in May and I am looking for 11 or so other moms of preemies living in the area to help me with a fun fundraising project. I have a blog and dabble in photography and would love to make a vintage inspired calendar of March of Dimes Moms to sell to raise money toward our goal. This will be very tasteful (very PG and classy) and will be sold online on my blog as well as locally. I'd like to get started RIGHT AWAY since there is not much time left to pull this together and would like to do the photo shoot the first week of April sometime. If you or another preemie mom you know would be interested, visit my blog www.seecatecreate.wordpress.com for examples of what we'd be doing and contact me asap! I need 11-12 willing models! This is totally for fun so don't feel like you have to be stick thin or a pro to be a model! This will be a great way to meet other preemie moms in the area as well as get in some playful pampering and get some fun FREE vintagey hot pics of yourself!

I don't live in the Houston area but one of our former Share mom's does. If you search for "Lilygrace'smom" on Share, you can click on her name and find an e-mail address for her. She might be interested or might know other people who would be.

Wishing you lots of luck in your search!
